Lo Duca Nero D Avola is a Southern Italian IGT wine from Avola, Sicily. A typical variety Nero D Avola in Sicily. Lo Duca Nero D Avola translates to 'The Black Grape of Avola.' This wine is dark, and robust in character. The mix of Sicily's arid mediterranean heal and its large diurmal swings is conducive to creating ripe wines with retained acidity. Siracusa Appelation, Pachino and Noto are the villages growing our grape.
This wine dates back to the Greeks and Romans. Our grapes are hand picked with a mature combination of tannisns and antocyans are softly pressed with the first fermentation running with the skins. Aging occurs in steal tanks. Finally, bottled and aged for six months.
On the palate, it is complex and supple, with ripe berry flavors framed by silky tannins. Perfect match with meats, BBQ and aged cheeses. The Sicilian cart, painted by Lo Duca's own Andy Lo Duca, is a colorful representation of the classsic iconic symbol of Sicilian culture.
